Family Christmas with Heather

My Daughter's family came today!

Dinner was wonderful, pork tenderlion, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, green beans, applesause, spiced cider,  and all kinds of sweet.... and  Kendra(2 yrs) sat in a "big people" chair and smiled all during dinner! cleaned her plate too.  she loved her baby alive and the loving family mini van the best.  when she opened the sleepers  she thought we were going to make her go to bed, I told her every time she wears them, all snuggly cuddly, to remember it is like a big gramma hug!

Joey got a cereal box with a camo cooler.. and in side was cash... he wanted more cereal boxes! hahaha Jeffrey like his stuff and I know Steve and Heather liked theirs.

Heather got me some books.. and she had found an interview my dad gave in 92... and she made a little booklet with the interview printed out, ..that will be one of my most treasured things this year.

now to do this all over again Monday after Christmas with Danny, Kelly and the girls.

it feels like they were here only for 3 minutes and then time to go.... Steve had broken out in welts   sigh....:(

Oct.19th, 2010

I have again, been lax in posting and updating my blog.  I have been working in the yard, trying to get things put away for the winter.  we had a lovely campfire this past week-end and great friends sitting around it.

Before we turn around, the Holidays will be around the corner.

Hopefully I can start sharing some of my crafting projects for this year.

hugs to all.

kitchen updated with 2 painted countertops

I have been very busy, I have been looking at counter tops and can;t find anything I like. (that I can afford!)

I took a deep breath and painted the 2 small  areas by the stove.  I am loving it.

I can still replace all of them, but I might wait a bit, now :)
I am scared to tackle the LARGE u shaped counter, that is a big job.

hope this link works.

Good Morning Friends!

I am thrilled and still on a high from my high school girlfriends' visit this past week.  it was about 40 yrs since we last sat and giggled.    for about 6 hrs, we were not 57 and 58 anymore, we were both 16 yrs old, and it was bliss!

we really need to do this more often!.

It is 94 and heat index of 105 and I just had 30 bales of hay delivered...we'll wait for the wagon load in cooler weather.   we are to have intense storms again today then relief..

my prayers continue for the Gulf.

Wed. 7-14-10

Bright sunny day here.  Sat on the swing and called my girlfriend that is 1/2 hour away.  She rescues kitties to, and is having a hard time right now, some of hers are needing to cross the bridge.

We try so hard when they are brought to us, we show them love, kindness,  and we give meds and baths to messy little bottoms when there is no momma cat to care for them. Some don;t make it, others go on and thrive and are adopted into forever homes...some have special needs and we take extra care with them so they stay healthy and most adjust and show us humans over and over that there is a strong will to live in all God's creatures.

Then when we see that they are aging or in distress and even a vet will say "there is only so much we can do.", that hard decision has to be made.  It is made with a heavy heart that Love has filled beyond the rim of each cup, and it is never easy to say, it is time.

No matter how much we try, some are just not mean to be with us long.  My thoughts and prayers are with my friend for the decisions she has to make soon.

Progress on Kitchen re do

I started working on my kitchen last month, and slowly it is coming along.  here is some photos of what is done, still have to finish up trims and then onto the counters and sink.  we are not sure if we'll paint the counters or just get new installed.  I am hoping to insert the slideshow.  you can also go to webshots.

2-5-10

Whew, just made up some Italian patties and will freeze them for some night when we are too busy to cook.  the House smells like my Gramma's house.

there is nothing more soothing to one's soul than smells that trigger happy childhood memories, ...one for me is my Gramma.  She came over from the old country and spoke broken English,  always ready with food and hugs.

I so miss my Gramma, but I know she is always near in my heart.  her speggetti and

I got kittens all taking naps, so I took a minute for me.

the predicted winter storm is knocking on the door, it is starting to snow.

we are ready to snuggle down and watch the beauty of God and nature.

Have a wonderful day!.

1-31-10 Sunday Post

 Hi bloggers!

It has been quite a while since I posted, I will be trying to be much more regular in the months ahead.

I have made a commitment to de clutter and donate or pitch "stuff"  this year.  I saw a show called "hoarders" and like a bad kid  in front of a hardened criminal, I was scared "strait" about the rat's nests full of craft items, and lotion bottles, and tincture bottles and an array of kitten toys, and let's not forget magazines I leaf through for ideas, and , oh yeah.....yarn balls since I taught myself how to crochet.

I have a few more days of gathering tax figures, then  even though I have been working on the de-clutter since before Christmas, soon I will devote  full time until I am back to a manageable mess.

it seems to much harder since we started to rescue the kitties....  but we are no longer taking in feral babies that we bottle feed and tame for forever homes, because the forever home seems to keep being US!

Hubs is doing very well, I am so proud of him since his heart surgery, he is faithfully following the dr's orders, and we both walk 2 or miles a day, eat heart healthy foods, and are fitting into skinny clothes!

Well, that's it for now, but I hope to add to my blog in a much more regular manner.

hope you all have a wonderful day.
